Apex logoKick Start Service

Kick Start provides an effective alternative education programme for young people in their final school year who have disengaged with mainstream education as a result of offending, exclusion, behaviour or social circumstances. The key objectives are to provide a structured programme of activities and workshops that will increase the employability, skills and knowledge of young people in Glasgow who are not attending or are excluded from mainstream education.

Specific objectives

 To increase the employability of young people who attend:

The programme can run for up to 24 week’s and service delivery will incorporate both group work and 1:1 support. The timetable is client led and flexible to suit individual development needs. The modules covered within the programme include core skills, life skills, citizenship, basic skills, employability skills and leisure activities.

Service Outcomes

Forth Valley Employment Unit

Apex Scotland Forth Valley Employment Unit provides employability and self development opportunities for those young people experiencing difficulty or not engaging with mainstream education. The service involves action planning, goal setting, employability skills and where appropriate work experience. We also link with FE colleges as appropriate.
