Towards Emotional and Social Health and Wellbeing: Building Curriculum for Excellence through Positive Relationships and Behaviour

This interactive programme of support for Voluntary Sector staff working within schools and children’s services was facilitated by Education Scotland’s Positive Behaviour Team in September 2011.

This activity based programme was designed to support staff working with children and young people in learning environments (schools or wherever learning takes place) to provide them with an opportunity to reflect upon the significance of emotional and social wellbeing in their work and to consider the implications of our increasing knowledge and understanding in this area. The programme supported the general principles of GIRFEC and Curriculum for Excellence - making coherent links with Health and Wellbeing - and reflected upon opportunities to ensure direct and positive impact upon the broader learning environment.
