More about Quarriers Projects
Opt-In
Offers support to all 10 - 14 year olds within participating schools in the Greater Pollok area of Glasgow, to achieve their full educational potential by making a successful transition from primary to secondary education. Working in partnership with families, teachers, social workers and educational psychologists, the project addresses a range of relevant issues such as bullying, relationships, workloads and homework, attendance, self-esteem and anger management and support for those who may be struggling with difficult family circumstances.
QUEST (Quarriers Education Support Team)
Is based in East Renfrewshire and provides intensive support to children with specialist educational and behavioural needs. Some children have difficulties in forming relationships or may display challenging behaviour, and the programme is tailored to the requirements of the individual child, including comprehensive support to cope with the educational emotional demands of returning to mainstream school.
Seafield School in Ayrshire
Is a residential and day school for boys with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education. Pupils follow an extensive specialist education programme, which mirrors the national curriculum, in classes of around 6, with additional assistance from a classroom support worker. Seafield provides a high standard of education, and an appropriate individual care programme, aimed at returning the children to mainstream education wherever feasible.
