- Good topic for the event. Restorative Approaches resonate with the philosophy of many of the voluntary agencies represented. The participants were very receptive and particularly regarding the activities that reflected the work of their organisations. The opportunity to share experiences was welcomed by all.
- The commitment of the voluntary agencies to support young people and to make a difference was very clear. The quality of the input from the participants reflected a very good skills base within the agencies represented. The participants were almost unanimously of the view that they would have the opportunity to influence their organisations in a positive way.
- The training linked well with the thematic approach taken forward through PINS – ‘Curriculum for Excellence’ and ‘vulnerable young people and education’.
- The benefits of both of ‘discrete’ training for voluntary agencies and also the perceived benefits of Joint Training with staff in schools were noted.
- A very positive subject that we could all connect with.
- It was good to discover how restorative approaches are being implemented and the seminar gave us much to consider in terms of how our individual approaches can complement this.
- Good presenters using their experiences to enhance the power point stuff – enjoyable learning with an edge!
- There might have been some more participation from a voluntary sector representative and time for participants to discuss how they might implement this tool/style/approach. I suspect there were quite a number of us who might have felt that there were elements which they were already doing and pleased to learn about the values/ethos or elements that it would be very difficult to take on board because of their work style.
