Emotional Wellbeing in Schools

9 September. Twilight meeting of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Scottish Branch followed by AGM. Glasgow. The Child’s Curriculum

11th September. A one day event with speakers including Dr Harry Burns, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland; Detective Chief Superintendent John Carnochan, Head of Violence Reduction Unit, Glasgow; and Alan Sinclair of the Work Foundation. Improving Children’s Services in Scotland Conference

14 September, 2010, Edinburgh.  This interactive forum aims to bring together leading experts and practitioners to identify and put in place revised strategies to strengthen children’s services and improve outcomes for all children and young people. NEW - Supporting children and young people with diabetes and other long term conditions in school

NEW - Children in Scotland Annual Conference

NEW - Mental health and school readiness – do we know what we need to know?

8 November, 2010, Glasgow. This aims to raise awareness of recent research findings from Scotland and further afield and of current service developments. There will be a specific focus on the ways we can use data to support evidence based policy and practice both at national and local level. NEW - National Anti-Bullying Week 2010

Takes place from Monday 15 to Friday 19 November, and is designed to raise awareness of anti-bullying initiatives among children, young people and adults across the UK and Ireland. To mark the event Scotland’s anti-bullying service respectme are launching a national competition based around the theme, 'what bullying means to me'. Schools and youth groups across Scotland will shortly be receiving their competition packs and the deadline for all entries is Friday 8 October.  Find out more about the week and competition HERE

NEW - Getting it Right for Early Years 

11th November, Edinburgh. The Scottish Pre-school Play Association’s National Conference has an emphasis on GIRFEC. NEW - respectme annual conference

Taking place on 16 November in Glasgow. Speakers include Adam Ingram, Minister for Children and early Years and Heather Gray Director of Who Cares? Scotland. The conference will feature children and young people in workshops and sharing experiences. The conference will also see the launch of the Scottish Government’s National Approach to Bullying.
